Carole Ann II is one of thelargest charter boats on Marco Island
she is also one of the few boats that runs with a Captain
and an expert 1st Mate to help during your trip.
Captain Scott
Ray was born in Boston, Mass. His father worked for
Evinrude and Johnson outboards making it possible for the
family to be outfitted with the newest fishing boats and
equipment. They spent their time on the beautiful New
England waters where Scott learned fishing skills from his
father.
The Ray family decided to move toMarco Island in 1980. With his
time boating up North, Scott was able to land a job at the
beach as a lifeguard and teaching sailing. Needing more
adventure and time on the sea, he sailed to St Croix USVI
where he learned more about deep sea
fishing and gained even more boating experience.
With his expanded knowledge, he acquired his first 50-Ton Captains license.
After years in the Caribbean, he began working as Captain
aboard off shore tugboats throughout the Atlantic, Pacific
and Gulf of Mexico where he earned his
Merchant Marine License 1600 ton upon all oceans.
Our 1st mate Steve Schmidt
hails from Marietta, Georgia. Steve worked as a corporate
executive around the country for many years, and deciding the suit and tie thing was not for him -moved
to
Goodland, Florida. Steve has raced sailboats, worked as mate
on fishing charter boats for the last 10 years, and recently
acquired his 6 passenger captains
license. Steve’s sense of humor and fishing expertise
is an excellent asset to your great day of fun and
excitement aboard The Carole Ann II.
